If these guys had any pride in their profession, they would have turned in a strip with two blank panels and the third would have had a tastefully lettered caption that said…“Sorry, you lot, but we couldn’t come up with a bloody thing for today”.

“Well, he didn’t wake up this morning” was the epitaph on some old Bluesman’s grave marker. Sorry. I don’t remember which one’s.

these writers are notorious for stating the obvious. same is true here even though they left it unsaid. How slow, drunk or retarded would I need to be to get a laff off this? it’s more like " wish u were dead too" {yeah, Duh! would Homer Simpson laugh?

just thinking .. given the illustrations what could one write in place of what is there that’d be funny?I’m imagining Bob is accepting coin to sing about someone you’d like to tease. a boss or wife maybe?then if you don’t pay him he sings a horrible one about you?

Somehow I really doubt that Guitar Bob has any friends, whether present or former. If Grizzly Gus were here to defend himself, he’d probably tell Bob, “We’re not friends. We have a long acknowledgement of each other’s existence.” (Or something like that: Alex told Louie that on a “Taxi” episode once.)

In the “long ago” days, there was a UK band called Grimms. One of their songs was , “Yer Blues” which went, “Woke up this morning….. thank you.”

Am I the only one who gets this? Notoriously bad Guitar Bob sings from the heart about a presumably dead friend, and he’s on key. Both poignant and humorous, where I’m concerned.

Seems like there should have been a 4th panel with a punch-line but they forgot to draw it.
