I’m glad you were able to settle your dispute with Mahoney, Goldsmith and Garnett. They have now gone up in my estimation.

Your criticism of their work was always constructive and never cruel or unnecessary. In fact it was often as entertaining as the strip itself thanks to your own experience of working in the industry.

This recent dispute confirms the current writers an artists at least acknowledged yours and other’s criticisms and hopefully some of it penetrated!

I remember fondly your re-do of the Don Martin cartoon of a man’s “enormous fat freak” of a wife, putting Flo’s face on her and Andy on the face of the man. I even saved it somewhere or other, but then lost it somewhere or other. Any chance of a link to it?

What is Andy’s height? I’m 5’2 so I’m probably not much taller than him. I would love to be taller.

Had to go back to the Job Centre today and I am now on contribution based JSA because I have paid enough National Insurance to be eligible. Staff were very friendly and helpful as usual. If Andy Capp was there however…

A strange thing happened yesterday. It started snowing when I got home. I was baffled, thinking it was Spring now and we were now done with that sort of weather. Fortunately, it didn’t snow that much, so I wasn’t snowed in. I guess you never know what to expect.
