I just tried imagining Andy in a kilt. Not a pretty image.

As much as I’m ancestrally part Scottish, I’d like to see a ceilidh… just not an intoxicated, going-commando ceilidh.

Maybe Andy could do that Scottish Highland sword dance? I admit that I don’t know what that dance/jig is called.

@Number Three Today’s strip is funny , my late sister’s husband was a Scot soldier also named Andy , so the thought of our Hero Mr Andrew Capp doing the crossed claymores (swords) dance while drunk is mind boggling :o) m, y avatar is of a picture how some people think they look handsome like Brad Pitt when they actually look goofy like Mr Bean :o) when I look in a mirror I am surprised to see a 76 year old man looking back at me how was your day in restricted freedom? ours should be busy but calm I hope with no errands to run or anyone to visit us , take care and don’t forget to get a card for your dad for father’s day on Sunday BCNU pal

Flo, the Scots don’t call it “staggering”. They call it “reeling”. And that’s why Andy got the prize, as they were playing a highland reel.

    I’m sure that didn’t scotch Andy’s enthusiasm!

I googled this and found 3 different pronunciations for ceilidh. Anyone care to tell me the right way?

Well, one man’s stagger is another man’s dance.

Alcohol and dancing have one thing in common: they can both make people look like idiots.

Our neighborhood group is sad to cancel our weekly Scottish dance practice. We’d meet in a school building after hours. Can’t consider it now, as it involves close quarters while breathing hard, and touching many hands repeatedly. Creates endorphins and sparks smiles, but could also spread germs. :-(
