@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp interpretation of the Judge’s statement to suit Andy’s agenda to weasel out of a stint in the lock up is typical :o) my Avatar is a picture of sleepy from Walt Disney’s classic which is how I feel after passing a sleepless night worrying because Alex is taking Connie for a Surgical out-patients appointment this morning :o{ how was your day ? ours looks like being hectic but we should cope I hope take care , like your new avatar and will keep you posted pal
There has recently been mention of the 1976-8 comic Krazy. One of the strips in Krazy was called “Paws” and was by Leslie Harding who was Reg Smythe’s icon when Reg first became a cartoonist and who helped Reg to become a professional cartoonist.
Today, I looked up “Leslie Harding cartoonist” on Google and found two websites of special interest to me. One was “Leslie Harding – Reg Smythe” which told me some more about Reg and Leslie. The other was “Leslie Harding – Cheeky Weekly”. It was actually about a Paws strip which Leslie drew for Krazy but contained a single-panel appearance by Cheeky who appeared in two separate strips in Krazy – “The Krazy Gang” and “Hello – It’s Cheeky”. Cheeky went on to have his own weekly comic called “Cheeky Weekly”.
The Paws strip is also of interest to Andy Capp fans as it features a cloud fight between two dogs near the end. The cloud fight contains the words “Growl” and “Grrr” but also the words “Biff!” and “Bash!” which would be more suited to a cloud fight between humans.
I worked with a guy who had a habit of speeding, especially through this town where they would always catch him and he always had to make a court appearance. The last time he was there the judge told him “Mr. —, if I see you in my courtroom again I am going to throw away the key!” After that he slowed down going through that town, though he didn’t slow down anywhere else.
I had to skip a first appearance as I knew they were gonna lock me up this time and did not want my car to be in a town 120 Kilometers away for 2 weeks to 2 months. Cop in Hamilton said skip the first and we will put out a warrant the following Sunday and they would transport me down for Monday morning court. Worked out just fine.
I was looking at my holiday photos from my Mystery Cruise last year and came across this one taken in Stavanger, Norway. I happened to zoom in and noticed this bloke glaring at me from his van. Scary……
I was taking a photo of the massive hotel in front of me. Not him! Haha.

So have they replaced the “your worship” with “your honor?” With the British “u” of course.

This new crew at Andy Capp is certainly on a roll. Another funny strip! What a pleasant change from the last couple of years…

What he probably meant was: He HOPED to never see you in his court again.
But there is no hope any more…
Haha.

What kind of surgical procedure was it? I hope Connie is home now and resting up! She’s very lucky to have somebody who worries about her so much.
The wind seems to have settled down now but whenever I woke up, I could still hear it and it was strong so I just decided not to go out again today.
Much Love & Many Prayers.
