    @Number Three Today’s strip IS funny, our HERO Mr Andrew Capp would rather have won the second prize you can’t drink a posh food hamper :o), my avatar is a picture of a billboard with an empty panel to predict the weather , which is how I do it by looking outside , what you see is what you get, how was you day? our day should be a little busy but we should cope I hope we both are in a good mood we have some shopping to do and then we can stay in the house and keep hydrated , keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady

    If it was a posh Mr’s Pumpfrey hamper it would be worth Andy’s weight in ale"

    Yeah – it must be a great food hamper to be valued more than a case of ale.

    On December 31, I mentioned that I first learned about New Years as a seven-year-old at Christmas 1973 when I asked why the annuals all had 1974 on them. My annuals that year included The Beano Book 1974, The Sparky Book 1974, Tom and Jerry Annual 1974, Pink Panther Annual 1974 and Yogi Bear Annual 1974. I would get a Beano Book and a Sparky Book each Christmas and they were dated from 1974 to 1980.

    Someone replied to my comment and addressed me as “youngster”. I guess I am a youngster compared to some Andy Capp fans but there are others who are about my age. Some of my fellow UK Andy Capp seem to remember the 1970s comics that I read such as Monster Fun (1975-6) and Krazy (1976-8). One of my fellow commentators has told me that he was born the year after me (1967) and that he read Buster Comic around the same time as I did but kept reading it into the early 1980s.

    As has been mentioned before, Buster was sometimes identified as Buster Capp – son of Andy Capp. This was never part of the official Andy Capp comic strip apart from a picture of Buster appearing in the background at Andy and Flo’s home to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Buster Comic in 1990. The comic would finally end early in 2000.

    There there, Andy! With the money you’ll save on groceries you can buy a couple cases.

    @Afficionado

    Hey, Affie.

    Once again I didn’t go out today because it was cold and windy. Tomorrow I do intend to go out for my weekly KFC and then go to the library.

    Since last year, I have started doing online paid surveys and have a ‘massive’ total of £14.09 in my PayPal from them. I do not rush through the questions and answer honestly even if that means I get disqualifed. I can always move on to another one. I did used to cash in for Google Play gift vouchers but not anymore. I think PayPal is better. Anyway since my birthday and Christmas, I have enough Google Play credit.

    Stay safe, stay well, stay warm and stay happy, pal. Talking to our friend Eldo later.

    If anyone should be glum it’s Chalkie because I have no doubt Andy will be around soon to help him drink it, cadging the majority of the bottles for himself, of course.
