@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny, our HERO Mr Andrew Capp’s ways of bumming a pint are always predicable :o) my avatar is a picture of Mr Bean saying happy birth day because today it’s my son Arthurs birthday , it’s also a public Holiday in Malta my avatar has already been explained how was your Day? Our Manic Monday should be slightly busy we both are in a good mood, no shopping or errands to run just stay inside the houuse and keep hydrated because it’s hot outside keep safe and thanks for caring Young Lady
Professor Andy professes to know his beer. He ferments on its making. And hopping on this knowlage he has become less bitter. In fact he has become rather stout with most of his fellow Pub crawlers. And his memory is usually good. For he knows who is getting the next round yeast it becomes his turn. Yes, Andy does indeed professes to know what ale’s him.
Do we know why Flo married Andy? I’m guessing Andy was a bad boy who seemed enticing when Flo was a lass, and after she married him she realized her mistake.
Yesterday, someone made a reference to Granny Clampett. I have just read it and corrected the error by pointing out that she was Granny Moses as she was Jed Clampett’s mother-in-law. The Moses family of Tennessee had a feud with the Bodkin family of Tennessee and Banker Drysdale was a relative of the Bodkins which was one more reason for Granny to occasionally fire her shotgun at him.
I also mention in my reply to yesterday’s comment that I recently mentioned that Granny Moses was one of the few positive mothers-in-law in a 1960s sitcom. Granny Moses and Jed Clampett got on well most of the time and Granny Moses was a good grandmother to Ellie Mae Clampett. She had most of her family problems with Jed Clampett’s nephew Jethro Bodine who was her grandnephew.
According to Wikipedia, for what that’s worth, the October 24, 1972 strip claimed that Andy once worked as a sign painter but hadn’t done that in many years. I recall reading somewhere that Andy was once a hod carrier, but that seems way too labor intensive for Andy.
Sorry I’m commenting so late today. It’s been a busy one. I’ve been to the dentist for the first time since Feb 2020 and I’m really happy to say that my teeth are absolutely fine. He took some X-Rays to look for any underlying problems. There are none. Whoo hoo!
My bill was £23.80. So I hope that puts the rumour that our healthcare is free to bed. It’s free when it comes to hospitals and going to see a doctor at a medical centre but not the dentist or opticians. We’re a strange country.
I also found out some wonderful news today. My cousin is going to be a Dad. All in all a pretty great day.
Stay safe, stay well, stay cool and stay happy, pal.

How else? It’s not like Andy’s on the British equivalent of social security.

Unless purple suit is a complete idiot, he should have figured out Andy’s secret for success without buying him the pint.
