Was it one of those band’s with a washboard, someone blowing into a bottle, and a galvanized washtub with one string stretching from the bottom of the tub to the top of a long stick? And the players, a bunch of punks in bib-overalls with holes in them and in bare feet? Was it that washed-up punk band?

There was a Phoebe and her Unicorn strip in which Phoebe’s friend Sue described Punk Rock to nine-year-old Phoebe – it was before Phoebe celebrated her tenth birthday on the strip’s tenth anniversary – and Phoebe commented, “That sounds like music my grandparents like!” Sue replied, “Yeah.
