Janis: OH!
Janis: Why do these IDIOTS on Facebook think I care about the garbage they post?!
Arlo: Because you told them you do!
Arlo: Sometimes a husband must step up and speak truth to glower.
I seldom post to FB, mostly I just read what my family has been up to.. I think I have 65 friends but I only actually keep up with about 10 of those, of which only 6 are family.
,,,i only got on fb because one sister said she wasn.t going to email any more pictures – if i wanted to see her photos, she was posting them on fb and i’d need an account. i have 5 friends, (i only added them cause i didn’t know what i was doing) and i’ve never posted anything. if it’s important, i’ll email or call, otherwise it’s nobody else’s business. tmi on facebook, for sure…
Whatever you post of FB is public domain. Absolutely no privacy. One man found his wife’s photo on a single’s site, where it had been posted without her knowledge. Permission wasn’t needed, because it was “grabbed” from FB. And no, I don’t want an account, thank you.
I agree with most everyone about the negative aspects of FB. I got on for 2 reasons: family is so far away and some only post on FB, and because my kids are approaching the age where they will want an account so I want to be aware of what goes on.Just this morning, I got irritated at someone I’m FB friends with (my child’s coach, so I had to in order to get updates on the team). She posted a snarky comment that I think is about me because I complained to her last night because my child was crying after practice. Seriously!! She is an adult and a business owner – be mature or if you need to vent, go talk to a spouse or friend. Don’t post something that over 1200 people will read (that’s how many “friends” she has) and make them all wonder why you posted that. Ugh!!
@ScullyUFOThanks, I wasn’t that familiar with the phrase “speak truth to power” either, so JJ’s play on that phrase was lost on me. Google was a lot more informative about the “speak truth to power” phrase. Pretty interesting history.
I coined two terms: “crypticrap” and “postive-aggressive” to describe people posting deliberately vague information to solicit “friends” to inquire about them. Pathetic. Say what you mean or, preferably, don’t say it at all.

I’m on FB, and MAY do something there when they quit changing things around ! Whenever I can remember to go there, they’ve moved the furniture again !

Facebook is just another commercial ploy to exploit sheeple.

It is amazing what some people say on Facebook, and also amazing talk like that is allowed.

Anyone know what the source of “speaking truth to glower” is? I’ve never heard this expression before and google is no help.

I really do not care what others are up to and I am not sharing about my own life. So, no FB, no Twitter, no whatever the newest thing is!

Remember – Just like a TV, if you don’t like it, there’s somewhere else to go, and if you don’t like anything, there is an “OFF” button. ’nuff said.

Here lately, according to the pop-ups, I’ve been unfriended by more people than I know!!

Guilty on all counts except for grabbing someone’s photo and posting somewhere else.
