Spend all day carefully wrapping ‘stuff’ in expensive pretty paper (we save Sunday funnies for much of it), that’s going to be ripped and shredded next Tuesday. You’re ready for that shot of pain-reliever, but it’s already wrapped! He’ll have to unwrap it, since your hands don’t work now…
it took a second she was wrapping all the presents and got frustrated and wanted a drink so she gave him his present early so she could get a drink but is that the only bottle of booze in the house
Wife resents hubby doing nothing while she has to wrap the gifts. That’s why I do all the wrapping. It’s a small price to pay for Peace on Earth, and Good Will Towards Men, especially THIS man.
Awww, whatta bunch of killjoys. Wrapping presents should be fun! I think it’s fun, anyway. I love picking out the gift wrap that best goes with the gift and/or gift recipient in question, coming up with creative ways to decorate the package, cute things to write on the gift tags, etc.
And if people are just ripping them open in seconds, shame on them! What kind of sad creature knows nothing about enjoying the presentation of a special thing?
Why on earth is everybody complicating this? She is giving him a bottle of the expensive whatever for Christmas, is sick of wrapping presents and gives him the booze so they can have some. No return time frames, just an early present

I am guessing a bottle of brandy as she seems to be holding a brandy sniffer. Must have had a real bad day from her expressions.

or…. She had the bottle out expecting a bit after a job well done on wrapping presents and realized afterward she wrapped the bottle also.

This seems to be one strip that you need to see tomorrow’s strip to make some sense.

LOL!! Go Janis! To deal with the holidays, these days, is to be in need of a drink!

Brandy? Looks like she’s ready for cognac! Can’t tell if the glass is warmed, though.

I enjoy wrapping most of the time. It helps when I wrap as I buy the gifts instead of all at once.

Beware of irritated wives bearing gifts!

My husband means well, but bless his heart, he can barely seal an envelope! He wraps the kids gifts, because they never notice.

What a rather silly comment. Having a drink or two of brandy is not “chemical dependency”.

Gift bags, gift bags – much easier

In the first frame Arlo is peeking through the keyhole. Janis is miffed because he already knows what the present is.

Snifter, not sniffer.

as she seems to be holding a brandy sniffer I thought they were called “snifters”.

Maybe she isn’t sure if Arlo might like it and has a short time window to return it.
