Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for February 01, 2013
Transcript:
"Life is what happens while you're making other plans." You've probably heard John Lennon said that. Actually, it's attributed to Allen Saunders, a comic strip writer whose work included Mary Worth and Kerry Drake. Lucky so-and-so never had to be funny!

Here is a LONG history of the quote for anyone else who has mis-attributed this quote many times in the past like I have: http://quoteinvestigator.com/2012/05/06/other-plans/

When our paper imploded to three day delivery and very poor coverage, they raised the price. Not sound business practices I would think.

Is it just my browser, or has the typeface changed? (Yes I know, it’s not my browser.)

I subscribe to my hometown paper online because it is cheaper than home delivery or buying one from a machine and I don’t have all that paper stacking up.

Iced tea…. I’m confused.
What about the good, honest, law-abiding REST of us?
And what does that have to do with anything here?

One great thing I’ve noticed about this strip: Sometimes Jimmy J takes a break from the pressure of having to be uproariously funny every day. I respect and like that; it means the strip can go on consistently for years and not fizzle out.
Just a little regular glimpse into the lives of A&J and Ludwig is just fine now and then; it’s real life.
