More age related deaths as we age — until it’s our own.
Fewer firsts like the first girlfriend, awards, job. marriage, children.
i note that I’m reading the obits much more than I used to…
Unlike births we can see people we have had some history with.
I don’t find much in the obits anymore. Most of my friends have gone before.
As age increases so to does the expectation of bad news.
Arlo. Janice needs some cheering up. How about some of that old Arlo magic!?!?
I recently reconnected with a co-worker I last saw 27 years ago. What a joy!
What amazes me is that here where I live people tend to die in alphabetical order.
My grandparents referred to the obituaries as “people who won’t ride the streetcars anymore”.
As we age mortality is more of a promise than a threat: we don’t have to do this forever.
Though we are mortal all our lives, from eggs an sperm to the zygote to the final organ failing we are threatened with death. Just that most don’t even think about or work not to most of their lives.
Still, we really need to cure old age. It creates too many sicknesses.
