The winter is the best time for cooking pulled pork. You’re cooking low and slow, meaning 12+ hours in the smoker. If it’s too warm outside, it can get above your target temp of 225F.

It’s 25 below right now. Hoping it warms to zero. I had soup for breakfast. Grilling can wait.

Hubs swears any meat tastes better off the grill. We usually grill until the temps hit 20-ish. Snow doesn’t matter—grill is under roof.

it’s -4ºF now and i’ll be grilling dinner tonight… over charcoal. imo, a gas grill is simply an outdoor oven.

My grill has a gas side and a charcoal side. Most of the time I use the gas side, it’s faster and you have better control. Charcoal is for parties.

One of my co-workers was a transfer-from-Georgia. They’d always roasted their Thanksgiving turkey in their gas grill. So, here, in upper Illinois, where you have a chance of grilling in the snow on Turkey Day, they continued to roast their turkey on Ye Olde Gas Grill. Never got “rained out”, either.

I have a smoker. It doesn’t care much about temperature but wind really knocks it down.

Any day is a good day for grilling, except lightning storms.

More than once, my kids shoveled a path to the grill so I could make dinner.

We grill out a few times a week… even in the winter… and EVEN when we lived in MN!

It doesn’t matter what temperature it is; I grilled a chicken last week for 3 hours and it confessed to 15 crimes…

Welcome to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Grilling out when it’s cold is more than a tradition, it’s a citizenship requirement.

Trouble with a gas grill is you miss the flavor of the starter fluid.
