When I was a pilot, I used to have an expression. “Flying is a calculated risk. Do it often enough and it will eventually kill you. The objective is to stack the odds so much in your favor that something else, preferably old age, will kill you first.” It looks like old age is going to win this contest.
Do everything you can to load the dice and, if you like the odds, take the shot.
