I think of the character Aunty Acid as something halfway between Dorothy Parker and Erma Bombeck — both “crazy lady” writers in their own spheres of wit. Parker seems not to have been very happy. I hope Bombeck was; she seems to have been. I don’t know if anyone here understands or agrees.
