Okay, Wanda... One more time... Push! Push! Push! One... Two... Push! Push! That's it... Here it comes! Push! Push! Push! Gasp! Oh, Wanda, look! Here comes her brand-new baby... Girl? Guess again.
He really did look a mess when he was so new. There’s another strip where Wanda tells Hammie how he looked when he was born— “Like you just came from a bar fight.”
In the treasury volumes where they have commentary for certain strips it’s pointed out that Hammie is anatomically correct here and they got away with it. Most likely because the umbilical cord and being held by the nurse obstructs the view just enough it’s not completely obvious his winky is right below it.
Ok, I knew it was going to be a boy by the title image, same way I know they’ll have another girl eventually. But how could they not know it was going to be a boy? Did the doctor make a mistake when checking the sex?
