    2.5 to 5 degrees colder per 1000 feet, depending on the humidity. That’s why, on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, it can be 110 degrees on the bottom, but you’d better bring a jacket when you get to the top.

    Did his wings melt or freeze up? Is this Icarus or altitude? That’s what I always liked about BC. It was simple minimalist lines but it made you think. I’m so glad they reran this strip.

    If only the kids who tried hitching rides in airliner’s wheelwells wearing shorts and t-shirts knew how cold it gets at 25,000 ft.

    not only cold but also lack of oxygen as at 25K you are going to be in big trouble if you don’t have a bottle of oxygen
