Seems slightly different to the children’s books from my youth. Only slightly.

What the Draft went away in 1975? Oh this cartoon is from summer of 1966 it’s OK.

This whole arc isn’t as funny as it once was

A few years ago I kept seeing a window sticker on trucks- First time I saw it, it looked to me like the outline of a body with flames and I wondered why the self immolation sticker. Then I looked again and realized it was a buck’s head turned not quite sideways, a hunting symbol. Got a laugh from me everytime I saw it. Haven’t seen it in a couple of years now, must have gone out of style.

Reminds me of a bit in “The Big Bang Theory”:

Holy crap! This one sure didn’t make it into the paperbacks…

I had to turn in my draft card after two years of possession to enlist in the Navy after getting the letter from the President aka draft notice and my life was never the same again.
