I still remember my best friend’s wedding. Had the honor of serving as best man, an honor which came with a $200 price tag in tuxedo rentals. Me and the other groomsmen had a talk, and later during the reception I took him aside and told him “Dude, you better love this chick, cause $200 ain’t no joke to me, or any of these other guys. The divorce lawyer won’t be the only one coming to collect if you fuck this up.”
To date, they are still happily married (knock on wood)
Yeah, that’s a pretty expensive wedding…I get people wanting to go all out for them, but honestly, if it’s going to put you that much into debt, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a cheap wedding instead. After all, it shouldn’t be so much the fancy ceremony that’s the important part of it all, right?
Dan could look at the detail instead of just the bottom line to see where the charges came from. Just easier to ask Ella? Is she being evasive? Might be more here than meets the eye.
I’d guess that 20 kilopounds would be difficult to pay off quickly on a plumber’s pay, so interest would be a real concern. But better to owe a bank than Si.
Interesting that they could even qualify for that much credit. Is there an implication here that Ella secretly paid Darren’s debt (via cash advance, perhaps)?
Shauna had told Mildred that Mum had gone all bonkers about the wedding. But then the two girls made the party favors themselves, so didn’t that hold down the cost a little bit?

Still, that’s a lot of wedding at twenty thousand. Quite a hole to dig out of.

Is Ella wearing the same dress the bridesmaids wore at the wedding?

I have been wrong before, but Dez is a devious one; suppose he got the card numbers and advanced himself the loot he needed?
