A new page for the remaster, but it does tell us something about Linton: he’s so serious about football (or soccer, as we call it here), that he’d rather pick the good players over his actual friends. We see the guy on the right who appears to be finishing getting his team shirt on; Sonny has yet to do so, which indicates he was Linton’s previous pick before Jack. Which means Linton picked everyone else for his team before his two best friends (neither of whom care for the sport at all). Picking teams in gym class always seemed to be somewhat of a popularity contest: usually, you’d try to pick your friends early, so long as they were at least marginally competent. At least, that’s how it seemed to me, but I’m well out of public school, and was never high on the popularity list OR good at sports, so… yeah, not a lot of good memories there… :’(
I can’t believe anyone ever thought the idea of picking teams in school sports was a good idea. I was always middle of the pack, but I always felt so bad for the guys picked last. No life training involved other than “life sucks”.

Of course, Linton is the only one that seems really serious about the football match. He really loves football ♡.

The tall kid behind Sonny has to be the keeper, right?
