While IKEA has a reputation for cheesy furniture, that’s not always justified. Our kitchen has IKEA cabinets which are very sturdy and well designed. They have lighted drawers and cabinets, they are deeper than standard cabinets, and there is no divider in the middle of side by side cupboards. The drawback is if you need to replace a hinge, ONLY an IKEA hinge will work. Also, we went through many contractors who refused to install them. Ten years now, only replaced two hinges that were my fault for breaking.
In the ‘50s my dad and grandfather had a dime store in Berkeley, CA next door to one of the best known modern furniture stores in the Bay Area. I loved looking in their windows. The stools definitely look like something you’d find there.

Those appear to be Alvar Aalto Model 60 stacking stools, which are notable enough to have their own Wikipedia page.

Of course Lottie has a chocolate drawer. She probably never goes anywhere without one.

If Alvar Aalto stools are so valuable, how did they wind up in a skip?
