Every girl claims to have a boyfriend, it isn’t a marriage license. Keep your eyes and your options open

Sorry, Baldo, been there a time or two back in the day. Hang in there.Gotta ask, though…. Didn’t Estrella or someone say in front of Baldo (back closer to when this arc started at the yard sale) that she had a boyfriend? ‘cause I’m not surprised by this. I’m not saying I was surprised that he’d hit a setback. I’m saying I’m surprised ’cause I was sure it was already mentioned as a matter of fact.

Yes, she said she had a boyfriend early on. But she’s not making a revelation here, she’s just reminding him (and readers who missed it).

Could this be a setup? Is she going to say,“…and his name is Baldo.”

Girls who say…“I have a boyfriend…” used to be a problem. I HATED to hear her talk about HIM. Got a flash for you…get her to talk about hm, and what she likes about his. And LOOK at you while she’s doing it…and remember…

Because she’s telling you what she likes. PLUS she’s LOOKING at YOU while she’s liking something…

And I can tell you a lot more, but right now I have a date with somebody who used to have another guy…and day after tomorrow there’s somebody else, too…get her to tell youas much as possible…

    those are the first steps.

And if she’s REALLY in love, back off. But otherwise, placeholders are just that…placeholders…and VERY easily displaced.

“I have a boyfriend…” music to my ears. Translation=‘up for grabs’…when you spend more time with women you’ll “get” it.

Does anyone remember what the dates are for the strips about Baldo’s last interaction with Estella?

Thy need to keep the cartoon style of art. sometimes just looking at Baldo gives me a laugh. This kind of art takes the fun out of it. sorry.

Third panel: “I’m not sure” That’s your clue Baldo, now step in and claim her, she is thinking about it. DON’T LET HER GO!

The “realistic” style has been around a couple of times before, usually for very serious topics. For example, it was used when explaining what happened to Baldo and Gracie’s Mom (drunk driver) and for Tia Carmen’s romance.

Why does the strip look like there new artist?

Looks more like a “Superman” strip that a “Baldo” strip.

And yeah, there is reason why young men (up through age 73 it appears) hate have to be the one to move and take the certain rejection.

I see from the comments that there has been an art change. I don’t like it.

More “Brenda Starr” than “Nancy”, that’s for sure. Perhaps it was time for a change. Baldo’s character certainly was dealing with more mature and adult situations.
