Okay, with Baldo’s newfound nobility here and Estella’s sudden captivation for him, not to mention the art style, this is definitely his daydream and not reality. He wishes it could be like this. Any day now, it’ll snap back to the real world where Baldo’s hand is still hovering over the phone and he never actually made the phone call, just imagined it.

Boyfriend plus captivated equals fickle female in my book.

And is this the same Baldo who can’t keep track of important phone numbers?

This is ‘comic-novella’ style. Part of the story repeats each episode so new viewers can catch up. However, reality must come crashing down soon or people will get bored. Like me. But then I put up with Cathy for years after she wasn’t funny.

Just as a side note, I have never liked Estella’s glasses.

…new artists’ style is awesome, more realistic. Now we can take Baldo ‘seriously. The inker’s not bad either.

Please bring back the original Baldo, Tia Carmen, Gracie, and Papa. This new version is so trite and overdone, and does nothing to increase affection for or understanding of the Hispanic world.
