Open-mike night has a new meaning.

Reggie’s bark would probably sound better if he quit smoking those Doggy Butts.

He’s going for that Frank Sinatra/Hoagy Carmichael kinda thing…a low, raspy bark…

But he’s too young for liquor… dogs seldom live to be 21, and bars don’t care about dog years…  

So it’s coffee….one for my baby…and one more for the road….

Regrets… I’ve had a few…

I’m hoping all of us who like them will write to GoComics and tell them so.

The easiest way is to use the Contact Us link at the bottom of every page.

They have listened to a few vociferous complainers who call the pictures, links, and birthday parties “spam.”

Unfortunately few people ever think to write about things they like, so we have to show them that WE are the majority

Gocomics has always treated those of us with free accounts fairly, imo, but I can’t help but believe they are wanting us to switch to paid accounts. The people with those are likely still able to send pics. And by the way, the spammers thing is bogus. Spammers don’t usually send pictures, just text.

You can still put unformatted links in the comments, can’t you? I’ve enjoyed the pictures too, but loading them all slowed down both my connection and my computer and caused my browser to freeze regularly, and it probably slowed down the GoComics servers as well, making it more difficult for everyone to access the comics.

I for one, did just that. Asked GoComics to rethink their decision. People who post a picture or link to something that might be of interest are not spammers.

That “honor” goes to those that post the same thing – usually the still-permitted text – over and over again on every comic here.

I don’t often comment here, but I love the birthday parties and the photos. They build a sense of community in the rather impersonal cyberworld.

It’s kinda sad what has become of Ballard Street. Back in the day (last week?) I always looked forward to the comments section here, not necessarily for the comments (which were often funny), but mostly to see if any of the enterprising souls had posted previously published BS comics that were related to the strip of the day. Often gave me some freebies – two-fers, three-fers, or more-fers – and a chance to binge-watch.

“Hi there, folks. I’m Reggie and I’ll be giving you my renditions of ‘Barke Shoen’ and ‘Moowooowooon River’. Thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all evening…"

I thought Reggie music was something Bob Marley did. Oh wait, that’s Reggae. My bad.

Hi gang! Somehow my comic didn’t load from yesterday….Rats this is where would have posted pics of dogs singing and maybe a vid of barking dogs. You all use your imagination now. Didn’t work did it? WE WANT THE OLD FORMAT BACK!!!!

A couple of thing to report this morning with the van.

I checked my milage this morning. This is real day-to-day milage with my client being the primary reason for driving. 3/4 tank of gas burned. 16.08 mpg…

I’m not upset. The F-150 i sold was getting 14mpg.

The bad news?

I decided to get a spare key. Its a chip key. $69.00

Oh well. I needed a spare, thats all there is to it, so i bit the bullet and got it.
