From the looks of things, if he don’t hurry up, Thunder is going to get struck.

Thunder leaves no frond unscathed. Dexter, what are you timing? Is it Thunder’s TPF (Time per Fern)?

Every day is a new adventure for Thunder. Or for any dog, or small child for that matter.

I admire those… human, canine, or simian (not to leave out my pal, the Sheriff, who excels at this)…

    who can find adventure anywhere.

Probably cats and rabbits and fish, and more, as well…

it’s just humans who stifle their curiosity,

Life is only boring if you let it be…..

    and watch-watching is a trap.

    Timeliness is quite overrated,

as I keep trying to convince all the people caught up in the bourgeois notion of my tardiness.

Thunder seems to be eating the leaves off that bush as he sniffs at it.

All of the dogs I’ve ever owned, every day, morning and evening. On the other hand, I do walk two miles every day, although some would call it long-distance standing. Run, stop, sniff, run, stop, sniff, run, stop, censored…

Everyday is a great adventure. We just have to allow ourselves the freedom to enjoy it.

Thunder knows the joy of discovery. Children have that same delight in the world around them.

As adults, we tend to lose that thrill and grow bored and complacent with our lives.

I think that as we begin to head towards that final phase in our lives, the sense of awareness and adventure returns to us. We begin to realize that time is shortening, and we need to make the most of what we have. We once again begin to appreciate all those little sensations and experiences. This is truly the time of entering a “second childhood” filled with awe and innocence.

We would all do well, to follow Thunder’s example !

However, Dexter knows these “grand adventures” always end up at the house of Miss Millie High-Maintenance…

Ya know what, Dexter? Thunder’s life expectancy is a lot less than yours. Forget the watch. Enjoy the time you have with him, and let him sniff a bush or two. You’re gonna miss him when he’s gone, and wish you had spent more time with him.
