My guess is that ’ole Scoot has found a juicy one.

Simple enough. If he’s rolling in something, he’s in joy.

It’s also one of his ways to scratch his own back.

Ted goes onto think that he himself hasn’t experienced that much joy in decades & maybe he should join him…

Don’t suppose Ted will have to wonder for long.. a discrete sniff of Scooters backside will tell the tale. If, it turns out, likely fun.. have a go yourself. But check to see if Lydia ain’t watching, she is such a gossiper.

Cats also seem to get great joy from writhing on their backs. They manage to do it without accumulating foul odors, though.

Our cocker spaniel came over to see what we were eating, so we threw her a smoked oyster. She set it down on the floor, smelled it, and rolled into it, right ear first. She couldn’t resist the instinct. And to think we were eating that!

What do you call a dog that size? – “Sir!”

Ted doesn’t know that the two go together.
