In case you don’t know why they don’t like that name for a car in Spanish countries: nova – Spanish for doesn’t work (literally ‘no go’). But could also be ‘bad explosion in outer space’ just as in English. But guess which meaning you’re going to use if it has ANY little problem? And guess which meaning is used by average people every day?

Superpinto just doesn’t have the right ring.-So Chevrolet sold it to Ford and they drop the branding “Super” and just called it “Pinto”.
