Sadly, it is not just scientists, it also encompasses those who deny any species existed prior to Adam & Eve.

They don’t have a clue and no way to find out, but it keeps them in beer and chips.

The dinosaur is using the present tense to describe a future debate. Apparently time does not exist for him.

You guys are really silly, the cartoon is about the Brontosaurus being a fictional Dinosaur. https://www.npr.org/2012/12/09/166665795/forget-extinct-the-brontosaurus-never-even-existed However it’s back https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-brontosaurus-is-back1/ None of this had any thing to do with creationists.

I think maybe this strip went over most people’s heads. It’s not an evolution vs creationism reference. The scientific debate is whether brontosaurus as a species existed. It’s believed that the dinosaur named brontosaurus was actually the skeleton of an apatosaurus (a previously discovered species) with the wrong head attached. Of course by the time the error was corrected, brontosaurus had become a significant part of popular culture. Much like the idea of Pluto being a major planet.

It looks like a Creationist kind of prehistory even if it is set in the far future. And the prehistoric animals are all reconstructed.

How’s THAT for a paradoxical moment in time? The debating scientists don’t exist yet!
