Ben you deserve a ‘brass button’ for that. Not sure of the source of ‘brass button’, but it was a favorite saying of my MIL. She would use for when she or someone else deserved special recognition.
I believe I have commented about this before but, My recently deceased wife and I were married for 34 years and each year she would ask me what the date was and how many years it was. She at least knew it was January, and no she wasn’t testing me it was just the way her brain worked. Now I am not sure how I am going to make it because of the Holiday’s followed by January and then March which is when she died. It is already harder each day without her. Sorry to be so depressing.
I try to remember my first wife’s birthday and send her a greeting. We had a very amicable divorce 40 years ago. One year I remembered and her wife didn’t. :)
My wife and I acknowledge the date I proposed, the date we moved into our first apartment, and our wedding anniversary. The exact dates for the rest — our first date (there were actually two of those) and various other milestones — are lost in the mists of time and memory.

We were married on Beethoven’s birthday and I have Schroeder over at Peanuts to help me remember.

Nice going Ben. Maybe you should quit while you’re ahead.

That’s an easy anniversary date to remember. All he has to do is think of three one’s in a row!
