Jumpin’ Jack Flash was released in 1968, making it 56 years old right now. Assuming Mom’s 30, the number one song in 1938, 56 years before she was born was “A-Tisket A-Tasket” by the Chick Webb Orchestra. I think it’s fair for the kid to call The Stones old, regardless of how offensive the Boomers might find that.
Supposedly it was Mick Jagger who told the Beatles (who at the time did cover songs mostly) to write their own songs if they ever were to get a recording contract, and then the rest is history.

Is music old when it qualifies to vote or for Medicare?

It’s a song whose lyrics even Whoopie Goldberg couldn’t understand!

Why is she so shocked. I don’t think the song had any nasty meaning.

I just bought a set of Sonos speakers and am enjoying my classical favorites more than ever. Sorry if I’m showing my age. ㋡

Play, “If you want it here it is come and get it….you better hurry cause it may not last.” That will really open her eyes!
