First – husband would have thrown the item down the stairs and then sent me a text message to let me know it was there.
Second – For several decades of our being married I tried to get husband to learn how to do laundry – not that I wanted him to do so, but like many things he never learned to do (like a keep a checkbook – this due to me as when he got his first bank account we were dating and being an accountant from a family of same I just kept his checkbook for him and did his bank recs for him long before we married) he refused to learn.
Over the decades I managed to get him to learn many things, but laundry was one of the few he refused to learn about. (He comes from a traditional thinking family – men work, women clean house – though I worked also.) He did learn sewing – hand/machine/embroidery yes, but laundry no. Then he started weaving on a loom. After the item is finished being woven it has to be set by washing it to change from threads woven together into fabric. He now knows how to do laundry!
