I suppose it’s these quirks that make Betty and Bub relatable. Betty has decided how she’s going to view Bub’s response and nothing is going to change it!
You can’t beat solid hardwood. I built my own kitchen 50 years ago, cupboards, counter-tops, table & chairs, all solid butternut; and it still gets wows from visitors.
I rebuilt a kitchen once. Not because I didn’t like it, which I didn’t, but because it was falling apart, the walls were moldy and there was only one power outlet on the counter. Pre-staged everything, including plumbing the new sink with a garbage disposal. In a three-day weekend, I stripped it to the studs, added three power circuits, insulated the outer walls, new drywall, painted, new vinyl flooring, installed the new cabinets and a dishwasher. That was 35 years ago, couldn’t do it today.
haha, so true to life. Betty just views Bub as unchangeable and against this from the start, no matter how calm and rational he’s being. I love all the cartoony little faces and poses that contrast his explanations.

It’s the trouble of not being able to use the kitchen as it is being renovated. Afterwards you wonder how you got along before the renovation.
