“Barristas” are just retail sales clerks who happen to make coffee. They need to drop the attitude and get over themselves! They’re another luxury that we can do without. We don’t “need” $5 cups of coffee, and we don’t “need” barristas!
If there is a market for it, created or otherwise, why not fill that niche. I have never paid $5.00 for a cup of coffee, so it may be I don’t know what I am missing. If I were to do so and get hooked on it, so to speak, It can be an expensive habit. I prefer to remain blissfully ignorant, (which some people tell me I do very well). Got my ‘good to the last drop’ coffee, that’s all I need.
Regarding the comic, free market yada yada yada, what GatoCat said. Boy do I need some coffee.
in this case wilco is a noun, so I think it is slang for a radio.Sometimes a radio operator is also the person addressed (for instance, perhaps an aircraft pilot). That person might add the response “Wilco”, which is short for “will comply”.
My, apparently it’s rude day in the comics first Basic Instructions now Bliss. This is tip of the iceberg for tales from retail workers. Plenty of stories about customers like this guy.
