Reminds me of the time I got my 3rd knee replacement and we thought it would be a good time to get a puppy, ya know, while I was home anyway. Man I’m stupid. My physical therapy went quickly though.
Ah, just another reason to actually take yourself and your dog to obedience classes. Our two girls always walk on our left side, they learned to do that as we do not have sidewalks on all of the winding streets in the area we live in. Since it is the law to walk facing traffic when forced to walk on the side of the road, they stay up in the grass off of the street that way.
I have always taught my dogs “Get around” and “Fix your foot” and for the car “Dogs in back”Love Terriers & Staffys but they need firm consistency. Have a Chihuahua mix takes 3 times longer to train anything into her, have found she obeys and learns faster when it benefits her.
Retractable leashes are useful in open lightly populated areas. So many people use them in retail areas and don’t lock them short……..just ….stupid.

Both: “He’s spent his whole life in three dimensions. You’d think he’d catch on…”

It’s easy to get tangled if the pooch wanders all over the place quicker than you can keep up…☺️

He’ll learn to operate a leash when he gets around to it.

I’ve had dogs do the leash thing to me. It’s one of the reasons I now have cats.

Retractable leashes should be banned. Dangerous for dog and human.

That’s quite similar to “dancing” with the vacuum cleaner and power cord.
