What happened to Zulu?

I’ve been reading and enjoying Bloom County since it’s beginning in 1980. I followed Outland when Breathed stopped doing Bloom County until it ended in ‘95. I had high hopes for the new iteration of Bloom County. Despite some new and interesting characters, It’s just not up to the original(s). It no longer causes me the laugh, smile, or go “hmmmm?”. I believe I’m over it now.
