I doubt anyone will argue with Opus about this.

The airing of any opinion includes the potential for mob violence.

“Deliverance” was a pretty good effort by Reynolds though the story line was pretty disturbing as was the Dickey novel it was based on which I actually had to read for a 20th Century Southern Lit class in college.. Jesus, that movie probably set back tourism in the Appalachians for a decade or two…….. I also liked him in “The Longest Yard” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and of course the Academy threw him a bone by nominating him for an award in Boogie Nights….

In the third frame, as Opus descends, I can almost hear the ‘poink poink poink!’

Everyone has unpopular opinions. Mine is that “Fargo” is an incredibly boring and unfunny movie.

Never more true than today. Burt Reynolds was a popular actor, not a great actor….

He was a better actor than people gave him credit for in 1984, the year “Cannonball Run II” came out, but never a great actor.

Funny, back in the day I had similar sentiments about Barry Manilow.

And despite getting catcalls and boos, and more, I liked the Matthew Broderick “Godzilla”. Saw the movie long beyond it issuance date and heard all about how it was a bomb. Glad nobody can reach me …

I was a fan of Burt’s until he hooked up with my teenage crush. What was the Flying Nun thinking? I never understood why she didn’t call me. I was easily available outside her window for many nights.

There are actors who just play themselves. Burt Reynolds was one. He was fun.

Never shout “theatre” at a crowded fire…
