Valid worry. When friends painted the backside of their fence (which was inset so they were standing on their own property), the neighbor called the police.
I have neighbors from hell…..Last year I had to take them to court for threatening me when I put up 3 sections of stockade privacy fencing in my own yard. Like I said, I have neighbors from hell!
Hopefully their neighbors are neighborly. I have one who isn’t, and it is the worst! She left her car window open in the rain and I covered it for her, not even a thank you! She is still just as nasty as ever when we cross paths. Thankfully I’ll be moving soon, and I know the neighbors there already. Both friendly, though one is a busybody. Ah well, can’t have it all I suppose ;)
