A friend of my ex-wife used to visit now and then, but she wore a perfume that would give me a spliting headache. I always thought it would be the perfect weapon to drop on an enemy!!
A neighbor friend of my wife in her 70âs wears what I call âold ladyâs perfumeâ. Itâs heavy, overpowering, and I loathe it. Old women must have reduced sense of smell.
When I was young and into my early working years, smoking was common everywhere. As a result I had practically no olfactory sense. I could see why folks who lived then used heavier doses of perfume. About a year after smoking was banned from the office and from meetings I developed a sense of smell and am now quite sensitive to all odors (I especially enjoy smelling my wifeâs cooking).
1) I find most perfumes to be obnoxious and none âdelightfulâ, even when âfaintâ.
2) Persons who wear perfume, like those who paint themselves with âmakeupâ, are telling me that they dislike what they themselves are naturally.
3) Wearing perfume is like playing âmusicâ without earphones. It fills everyone elseâs space with your choice and allows them no opportunity (nose plugs"?) to avoid/escape it.
4) Some years ago in Sweden I occasionally encountered railway cars which were âno perfumeâ, just as there were âno smokingâ cars. I thought that was wonderful. Alas, on my recent visits I have not seen any such, though smoking is forbidden even on outdoor platforms.

I am severely allergic to most perfumes. People hate me but if I can smell it, you are wearing too much!

The smell of the vast majority of perfumes make me sick. If you donât have sinus or allergy issues be grateful for that.

I knew some ladies who wore some toxic forms or simply too much. Occasionally I left ill.
