OT: Yesterday Zada, one of my elderly cats, had a stroke. The vet agreed that she didn’t appear to be suffering or even very conscious and that it would be all right to keep her comfortable at home until she died. I was holding her on the sofa and one of the former ferals, an old cat who’d seen a lot of death, surprised me by coming over and snuggling close to the sick cat who had not been her friend and purring loudly as if to comfort her. It was so touching! Zada died a short while later. It was as good an experience as something sad can be.
