It wasn’t until a week after he passed away that my cousin told me and he was an atheist.

He lived a long time for his condition, but still not long enough.

His opinions on political and religious issues may have been controversial at times, but you can’t deny that he was incredibly inspirational. The overwhelming majority of people in his condition probably would have given up and committed suicide, but he continued on. With what little he could do, he still dedicated 100% of himself to advancing our knowledge of that which he knew best (in this case, astrophysics). Stephen Hawking is the perfect example of what it means to be a scientist.

And the professor had a great sense of humour…… he “appeared” in The ‘Simpsons’ and other animations and his voice featured in the latest series of ‘The Hitch Hikers’ Guide to the Galaxy".

We believe there is a Heaven because the bible says there is. No other reason, that’s where the concept comes from. But the bible also says there is a Hell. So…if he was right as an atheist, he isn’t anywhere. If he was wrong, he isn’t in Heaven. Someone once wrote that Carl Sagan was looking down at us. Can’t be. Either he was right and there is no life after death, or he was wrong and is not in Heaven, but he certainly isn’t looking down at us.

How someone with a normal(or genius) mind wouldn’t go absolutely flipping crazy being trapped in one’s own body blows my mind alone. I mean, I’ve had sleep paralysis for a few minutes freaking out unable to move my sheet or pillow to breath, but to live like that for decades?, whew! Can’t imagine for one nanosecond!

I’m just sad that one of the greatest scientists the world’s ever known is no longer with us.

Heaven, hell, politics, whatever – he won’t bother anymore. If he still exists, he’ll know (unless he’s reborn, of course) – for better, worse or not at all.

In my opinion, he was more than OK – and to those who take everything verbatim (argh!) the bible (or one of the transcriptions/translations over several languages) tells us: “Be hot or cold; otherwise the Lord will spit you out of His mouth.” Bummer.

Too bad they haven’t perfected a means of digitally scanning then down loading the human brain. First do that then give them a body and through the ages the bodies get better and better. But not just yet.

Maybe Elon Musk should’ve sent his chair instead of the car….
