His opinions on political and religious issues may have been controversial at times, but you canât deny that he was incredibly inspirational. The overwhelming majority of people in his condition probably would have given up and committed suicide, but he continued on. With what little he could do, he still dedicated 100% of himself to advancing our knowledge of that which he knew best (in this case, astrophysics). Stephen Hawking is the perfect example of what it means to be a scientist.
And the professor had a great sense of humourâŚâŚ he âappearedâ in The âSimpsonsâ and other animations and his voice featured in the latest series of âThe Hitch Hikersâ Guide to the Galaxy".
We believe there is a Heaven because the bible says there is. No other reason, thatâs where the concept comes from. But the bible also says there is a Hell. SoâŚif he was right as an atheist, he isnât anywhere. If he was wrong, he isnât in Heaven. Someone once wrote that Carl Sagan was looking down at us. Canât be. Either he was right and there is no life after death, or he was wrong and is not in Heaven, but he certainly isnât looking down at us.
How someone with a normal(or genius) mind wouldnât go absolutely flipping crazy being trapped in oneâs own body blows my mind alone. I mean, Iâve had sleep paralysis for a few minutes freaking out unable to move my sheet or pillow to breath, but to live like that for decades?, whew! Canât imagine for one nanosecond!
Iâm just sad that one of the greatest scientists the worldâs ever known is no longer with us.
Heaven, hell, politics, whatever â he wonât bother anymore. If he still exists, heâll know (unless heâs reborn, of course) â for better, worse or not at all.
In my opinion, he was more than OK â and to those who take everything verbatim (argh!) the bible (or one of the transcriptions/translations over several languages) tells us: âBe hot or cold; otherwise the Lord will spit you out of His mouth.â Bummer.
Too bad they havenât perfected a means of digitally scanning then down loading the human brain. First do that then give them a body and through the ages the bodies get better and better. But not just yet.
