I use hot sauces, the hotter the better in much of my food. No cold, flu or other virus has gotten me sick in years. I think my insanity is a protective force.
This is probably some sort of gag involving COVID. Wonder of Cliff’s plan would work in real life, but then again, from what I’ve seen, isolating at home has answered that question.
I knew a guy in college who routinely went out in sub zero weather in jeans and a T shirt. He never got sick. The whole campus was down with mono that year, but not him. He literally never got sick; not so much as a cold. One time, I caught him eating tiny amounts of poison ivy. He said he was building up an immunity to it.
This reminds me of a supposedly true story I read about some British organization that took some street people, washed the dirt off them, gave them a meal and clothes, and then sent them on their way. Many of them died in the cold because the protective layer of dirt had been removed…
That plan works for me. I’m a senior citizen, type 2 diabetic, never excercise (it’s psychologically stressful; makes me very angry, literally), and eat sweets occasionally. By using portion control and keeping my weight in the medically-recommended range, I’m in better health now than I was ten years ago. I emphasize weight control, as I lost 50 pounds and kept it off.
Mark Twain used to have a speech about the Importance of having a good selection of Vices that you could give up when you got sick so you could get well again.
He used the example of a very virtuous old woman who lived near him who had Died from the Flu while he gave up smoking cigars and lived through the same Flu.

I’m sorry, Cliff, that’s exactly what the virus likes.
Someone said, if you’re older, overweight, and a smoker, don’t even bother getting out of bed.

Why is junk food called ‘junk’ anyway? Nobody calls kale ‘inedible weeds foisted on us by the Grand Food Conspiracy.’ Well, to be honest, I do.

There are many dumber things to do. Not that that isn’t dumb, but there are dumber.
