When I think of all the years I spent with a corded, touch tone phone without any apps on it, it makes me sad that now there are SO MANY ways for people to interrupt my day.

We had a crank phone on a party line.

Rocks? You had rocks? We only had molten lava!

They seem to have forgotten that they’re on a space station.

I love this woman. No, I was thinking that with people drinking bottled water believing that water is cleaner, they might be interested to know that many of the bottled waters come straight from the tap.

We had bottles. We had water. Why didn’t we have bottled water? ☺

Love it when Pam talks about Banging.

“Banging our clothes with rocks”? That doesn’t sound right, in my memory. In Bombay, India, in the mid-1960s, I often passed an open-air laundry. A few dozen people were banging wet, soapy clothing on large cast-concrete blocks.

Ahhh, Pamela. You remind me of other things I’d long to bang.

I’m over 65 years old. If I told these kids how I grew up, they’d be hiding under their phones for a week.

The things we use to do to get a taxi to come to us back then….

Walked to the river in the snow, barefoot, uphill, both ways.

Before that we were banging the clothes on the rocks, who knew?
