I’ve never completely understood this “mansplaining” thing, to be honest. In my family, it’s always been more like “momsplaining”. Or “mysistersplaining”. Both of them will give me a lecture about how something works before they’ll tell me why they’re explaining the bleeding obvious. And half the time, it doesn’t even make sense!
For instance, yesterday my mother explained how the toaster works, then asked me to make her a cup of tea. Whenever she does something like that, I just assume she’s changed her mind about wanting toast during the time it took her to explain how the toaster works.
