“It knew enough to jump in front of Broomie and trip her.”
It didn’t jump, it had been lying there for hundreds of thousands of years, waiting for her. Rocks’ plans aren’t complicated, but they’re deep…
Hmmm… Which is stupider, a single rock, or a box of them? And is a box of rocks stupider than a bag of hammers, or smarter? What about a sack full of wet mice?
I just heard some guy say it once. His dog tried to jump through the back window of his car, but the window wasn’t open. As the dog slid down to the pavement, he (the guy, not the dog) said “He’s a great dog, but he’s about as sharp as a sack full of wet mice.” The phrase stuck with me for about 20 years (so far).

Irwin is so good-hearted (most of the time, anyway), he tends to speak in platitudes.

Well of course, @fritzoid. Wet mice aren’t sharp - they’re smooth and slippery.
