    According to family Civil War records, I have an ancestor who blew a finger off trying to open a bad bottle of booze. I also didn’t realize there were so many euphemisms for desertion.

    I thought it was illegal, immoral, and a bunch of other bad things to even mention the Confederates anymore even though they were, you know, a part of history. I’m so confused about having people try to control my mind.
