Oh Broomie, youâre not just paying for the coffee! Youâre also paying for that drive-through âexperienceâ. Take your time. Put the car in âDâ and sit back and enjoy the brew.
Simmons Gas Stations, mid 60âs: $.30/gal (gas wars would bring it down occasionally to $.23). Those where I lived had a car lift that you could rent for a couple bucks per hour and put your car up and work on it â changed shocks absorbers on two of our cars (mine and my momâs), and I think we could do oil changes even if we didnât buy their oil. Good times. Oh yeah, almost forgot; S&H Green stamps and/or Blue Chip stamps, and occasionally âgiftsâ if you bought $5 or more of gas.BUT keep in mind, the minimum wage was around $1/hr in those days.

I remember when gas would go on sale for 25 cents. How old does that make me?

The other day I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk in the organic shop I like to go to. Theyhave a lovely café area there. Well, it cost me 4.80 ⏠and the cup was barely bigger than an espresso cup. Perhaps the mount like 2 esspressi bot not more. The cappuccino tasted incredibly good but with this prize I will keep this a treat for days like birthdays or winning the lottery. :-/

I like listening to old radio shows. It was great when someone would get a turkey sandwich and a cup of coffee and get charged 35 cents.
And now, with the new guy in officeâŠ. :)
