To find the true meaning of existence you must empty the things of the material world from your mind and let the nothing of true existence enter in to it. All else is illusion.
Ah, autumn, one of my most favorite times of the year…the other being spring. And soon to look forward to the beautiful tufts of white snow hanging from the green boughs, which unfortunately we get but only once in about 10 years here in S.E. WA. But, “I can dream, can’t I”.
For me tomorrow is Columbus day I work pt for the county true county is closed to the public but workers go in as in service day. Just a normal work day for me.
We here missed out on the snow in SC KS.
Canada injoy you holiday ours is coming in November.
I must be doing something wrong because even in retirement, I don’t have any time to just sit back and do nothing! Doctor’s appointments … house work … yard work … it never seems to end! Oh, to be 6 years old and able to enjoy Calvin’s version of ” doing nothing” again!!!!!
@LX013 I know Calvin drives his cart like a mad man but somehow I don’t think he’s ready for the afterlife just yet and assuming he believes in some deity or another he will certainly have to do some sucking up to gain access to the ‘land of puffy clouds’ Some how I think Calvin would get bored with the rigid rules and soon get kicked out for dousing the god of that realm with one too many water bombs.
It’s a true fall day in northeast New York, about 50 degrees and quite windy. My granddaughter will be here soon so we’re going to bundle her up and get out the kite. I always flew kites with my Dad growing up in the Spring and Fall. When my son was small we ordered one from Lucky Charms and it came with “Lucky” on a parachute. The leprechaun attached to the kite and when the wind hit it just right it would glide to earth. I wrote a letter to Lucky Charms thanking them for the great offer and the hours of fun it gave my family and they sent me another kite which I thought was so cool of them!
hey this is so wonderful. Can anyone tell me in which book this one is? And if there is a European supplier for print of this one? I know of a friend who would definitley like this.

It looks as if Calvin and Hobbes are going off into ‘the wild blue yonder’. “Hitch your wagon to a star!” - Emerson
“Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.” - William Carey

Very true, but it was wonderful! Being in fresh air, sun, swimming, bikeing and hikeing , for all these things time is always too short!

God has made nature so wonderful, so that we cannot get enough from it!

Nada is wonderful, it gives me time to reflect on the wonderful things in life, that I sometimes take for granted.

The weekend’s more than half over yet and I haven’t begun to do nothing. Maybe today I’ll do nothing but watch football.
Great strip.

Oh I wish there was more time to do nothing. But whenever I start to do nothing all the things I need to do start talking to me.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Canada, this is going to be my first Canadian thanksgiving and I’m looking forward to it.

What most people do on computers (like right now) wastes a whole lot of “nothing” time, doesn’t it?

“But there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do, once you find them”- Jim Croce, “Time in A Bottle”.
GROG Premium Member about 15 years ago
Melissa I made a reference to Croce yesterday. “Photographs & Memories” I believe. Both seem to apply appropriately.
Love Croce….a man who died well before his time.
MatureCanadian about 15 years ago
Yes Croce suits Calvin’s comments. Great art as usual and apt thoughts.
