Why? Because he is Calvin. No crime is a crime unless he is behind it. I love panel 2. The shadow knows.

I’m with Cleo, he’d probably more on the supply side of crime than the demand for justice.

Calvin! there is a crime in your bedroom.

    And it’s all Hobbes fault!

He messed up your room while looking for your comic books to read.

Cleo, I wonder what you mean - no crime is a crime unless he is behind it - is he the super hero behind the criminal or is he the criminal behind the crime

You’ll have to go out and commit a crime…then you can come solve it… but I wouldn’t trust Hobbes to be the witness… he’d rat you out… for a belly rub

When our son was 6, he decided he had to have a cape, so he could be a SuperHero! He got so into it, at one point, he even wanted his dad to have a cape too & be his sidekick! Taking it one step further than Calvin! :)

Calvin(Stupendus Man) is really asking, “What crime should I committ first?”

Hobbes is really saying, “Why bother, everyone will know it was you anyways”

    LOL

larger icons cost $$ - I would rather see the funds in color comics, not “our” id.

Love the Stupendus Man stories…they are the best.

This strip reminds me of “The Cape” by the immortal Guy Clark. If you’re not familiar with it, you can check out a bootleg performance of it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h32OxKofS1A

What young boy hasn’t enjoyed the “powers” provided by a simple cape?

Despite this comic showing his appearance, this is NOT the first appearance of Stupendous Man.

There was another strip with him on top of a building thinking about whether he should take flight, with the air currents and such, and the last panel shows he was only on top of a slide.

They did mention Stupendous Man in the strip, so I know what I’m talking about
