The problem is this doesn’t only affect C&H. It’s happening with 90% of the strips I looked at. Having it happen one day could be excused. Two days is ridiculous. Somebody is being very incompetent.
What a Sunday without Calvin and Hobbes. I’ll go back into my bed and put the cushion over my head! Outside it’s raining cats and dogs, the sky is grey and no Calvin and Hobbes, that’s enough, I go back to bed!
Ok, people, some strips are loading, some are not, we are all suffering the same withdrawl symptoms, let’s get through this together.Try reading some of the Ham Shears comic strip to take your mind off things. It’s loading, but slowly. If you can get back to November 2011 you can read it from the very start. It’s quite a unique little strip. Just relax and let it do its thing.
@Dogsniff: Actually, I originally had you in the “record books” that I “published” yesterday, under “Largest number of times being excommunicated,” but I decided to edit it out before I posted the list. I had listed the quantity as “too numerous to mention.” (No kidding.)From what I can tell, you would have received the award for “GoComics user number closest to 400,000,” if there had been such a category.I did the statistics by looking at the profiles of about 30 current Calvin and Hobbes posters. I chose the ones who I knew had been here a long time, the ones who had joined recently, and the ones who I remembered had joined around the time that Number 6 and others had come over from the other comics site that was merged with GoComics. I looked at each poster’s user number, date of joining, and total GoComics postings, looking for trends. That’s all it was. As I said, it was based on very sketchy data.Your user number is at the top of your profile page that contains your recent comments, in the web address: www.GoComics.com/profiles/417505. You are user number 417,505.
The pop-up ads and the rude noisy commercials that I can’t stop work just fine all the time. But the reason I come to this site is to read the comics and you can’t be bothered to make those work right.
Check out the comments at Andy Capp for this past week, Monday through Saturday. Number Six has created six Calvin and Hobbes “tribute” cartoons that are really excellent. The first one shows Bill Watterson posting on GoComics.
I don’t know if this has anything to do with the glitch, but I just noticed that my number in the address bar is different than my user number. Today it reads “1,396,858” but I’m user number “771,298.”
Congratulations! Your glass is half full. . . Go do something! Burn some calories. You little guys (you know who you are), READ A REAL BOOK. With any luck, this glitch will stick around. My computer’s working fine! You’re not missing anything.
Golf always seemed to me to be good way to ruin a nice walk in the park….Golf Calvin-style seems like a good way to get seriously injured during that same walk in the park! Can we see some of that action in super-slo-mo???
It looks like maybe GoComics is working again, so I’ll try posting a Peanuts strip that would not display properly this morning. I like this one because most of the humor is in the reader’s imagination.Click here: Peanuts (June 30, 1977)
Hobbes I saw your comment yesterday. I still glad not in your statistics. Short version to me. I live in Central KS, I was placed not by testing in Special Ed as I could not see the writing board teacher’s used and they did not want to wait, I lost a lot of years of not learning the proper English righting, my parent’s as much as I wanted to read during summer time would not buy books or my mom would not take me to library for books. She cannot stand to read. My dad only would read when retired certain types of books. I had to study very hard and like learning new subjects when out of Special Ed.
For me learning Basic English, yes I speak English, I did not learn the requirements for writing proper paragraphs. I made through Comp I at a community college on-line I’m not sure how I made it, this fall Comp II. More later.
Don’t know about golf as a contact sport, but as it is played nowit doesn’t doesN"t look like a healthy option for Alte Kacker withdicky hearts And high blood pressure. Though walking round the course by itself is probably good exercise….
Just click on your name in one of your comments.
