Heard what this laddie did once after having been warned that the Evil One would be coming for him if he’d refuse toeat his spinach , which he did not believe ? Well, a terrible storm broke that same night, with blinding flashes and thunder. Waking and “seeing the light”, he ran to the fridge and started shoveling down the dark green stuff. His mom was the unnoticed witness as he finished off the food and grumbled, “Wow, all those threats for a helping of spinach ?”

Betcha food in the Navy isn’t so insolent.

We have that strip in our office along with a caption “How I Ended Up Here”. Is Bill Watterson a veteran? If he is not then he has great timing to release the strip on Pearl Harbor Day!

As I recall, there was a crawling steak scene in the first Poltergeist film. It was pretty creepy (pun intended)…

No need for the “Yes” in the last panel. That makes it sound as though Calvin is answering a question, and what recruiter assumes a call is an emergency?
